Moonrise Festival Preview

Moonrise Festival preview

Moonrise Festival in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, North America, Planet Earth is this weekend, and rBeatz has press passes thanks to Brian Benton. The festival is relatively new, starting in 2014, launching three successful festivals at Pimlico Race Track, where Preakness, a leg to complete the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, is held.  Brian will only be attending Sunday’s event; however, below, I’m going through both days and the acts that I’d recommend you go see if you were attending. Along with each act that I recommend, I’ll share their newest project.

rBeatz also has created a special mix brought to us by the rBeatz resident DJ, BRB. This is an exclusive mix for Moonrise Festival with acts set to perform on these celestial nights. Scroll to the bottom for the tracklist of the mix. Also scroll to the bottom to view Pretty Lights Live performance in George, WA a couple days ago.

Day 1: Saturday, August 12th

W3PLAY

A nice ode to the late, Chester Bennington.

GG Magree

Australian singer/songwritter who sang on Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE’s Frontlines. She’s on Zeds Dead’s new label DEADBEATS.

ARMNHMR

Duo from the Bay area. Electrifying. Crazy unique drop on this one.

Elohim

She sings goooooood

RL Grime

The Goosebumps of trap music…he’s classic!

Goldfish Live

People were saying they were one of the best undiscovered sets at Bonnaroo.

Gramatik

Funk. Electronic. Whomps.

SNAILS

The yuckiest, slimiest, filth you’ll ever hear from a slug the entire weekend.

REZZ

My 2nd favorite act at Bonnaroo. She’s been KILLING it recently. MUST SEE if you haven’t before and you like low end frequencies.

Kaskade

Gotta take a break from the whomps and listen to beautiful harmonies.

Big Gigantic

You should leave Kaskade after a bit to witness the electro-funk-sax king. My #1 at Bonnaroo this year.

Flux Pavilion

One of the godfathers of Dubstep in my ears.

Zeds Dead

I saw these guys for the first time at Starscape festival in Baltimore back in 2010, and it changed my life. They’ve recently created their own label, DEADBEATS.

Day 2: Sunday, August 13th

Revazz

DC DJ/Producer with some SICK, mind-bending sounds paired with a kick. The song below is wild.

ALMAND

Producer from Buffalo who started producing 4 years ago.

MIKNNA

A change of pace from the completely electronic scene. A rapper and producer with a hype set.

Big Wild

Live dance act who wants you to dance to his music.

Run The Jewels

Cartoon Network brought this rap duo together

Ookay

Ultra trap superstar

Said The Sky

Producer from Denver who makes sounds from the clouds.

Elephante

This guys influences are Avicii and Dog Blood. What a contrast. He’s a bit closer to Avicii.

Ganja White Night

These guys are that NEW dubstep, and their from Belgium.

Zomboy

He just came out with his new EP, Rott N’ Roll?

Porter Robinson

His sets are really beautiful. Him back to back with Pretty Lights is sure to be a magical evening. Leave Zomboy early to get your head straight from all the dubstep.

Pretty Lights

Watch Pretty Lights live show at Gorge Amphitheatre – this will be a nice vibe from all the chaos I just made you go through.
